I told them I changed the battery and the slip and VDC off light were on. They turned them off in under 5 minutes, it was free and i didn't have to wait. they did it right away. Tried disconnecting the battery, the whole drive straight thing, brake pads, rotors, fluid has all been done recently. Starter, battery, alternator all tested good, starts and runs just fine as if the lights weren’t on. Tran fluid is good, 4WD works.

If you follow the direction in your owners manual, it states. Go to a straight road, turn off your vehicle, turn back on, go straight without turning the steering wheel for 100 feet, the vdc will reset and turn the lights off. VDC is Vehicle Dynamic Control. It applies the brake to a spinning tire in order to arrest a slide on a slick surface, such as wet concrete or ice. It's not supposed to be used off-road. The system that the newer Xterras have that is useful off-road is ABLS, which stands for Active Brake Limited Slip.
