Jeep wrangler overheating while driving.

Two weeks ago wrangler was overheating then dropping back down after a long drive. In the am, the check engine light came on. Misfire with cylinder 1. Moved coil back and issue followed. Replaced all coilpacks and thermostat. Seemed ok for a bit. Fast forward a couple weeks and then temp is raising again. Well if it's your AC that causing you to overheat then to me that means your cooling system is marginal and the increase in heat load from the AC is overloading it. Start as instructed above and see where you are coming up short.

After that, for me, the 'trick' was to: 1) Make sure the coolant overflow bottle is filled to the max level. 2) With the engine cool, top up the radiator with coolant and install the radiator cap. 3) Start the engine. 4) Let the temp get to about 180F - 190F. 5) Shut off the engine and let cool for about 30 minutes.It should be stone cold until about 195 or 200 on the EVIC, and warm as the thermostat opens. If it starts to warm immediately, on a cold motor, that is diagnostic evidence of a stuck open thermostat. The only thing you did to your Jeep that was running cool was replace your radiator with one of an unknown condition, it may need to be rodded out at a radiator shop, don't get carried away with unnecessary repairs, you may make things worse. 1.
