I read the forum and replaced everything that I could find that would be causing the issue. Fan, radiator (went moshimoto), radiator tubes, thermostat (replaced with ripp), water pump, coolant, air filter, sc oil, engine oil.Doing maths, the engine oil will expand by about 0.3-0.4qt between room temp and running temp. Note: the difference between MIN/MAX on the dipstick is 1qt. Checking your oil at "operating temp + 5 mins" tells you the complete volume of the oil that the engine has when in operation.If your Jeep Wrangler is running hot, it is a serious problem. The difference was immediate and pronounced. On the trip home using the menu for digital coolant temp I was running 185 to 205f. My Wrangler never ran that cool. Also, my gas miles went up between 1.5 to 1.7mpg with the engine not running so hot. I recently got to 240 (with a couple seconds at 244) while towing a heavy trailer uphill on the interstate in 89F weather - 4000 rpm in 3rd at 55 mph. It sounds like you are describing some sensor issues that occur when the the Jeep switches to closed loop operation. Test the O2 sensors, they can get old and slow to react. Typical O2 sensor service life is about 100,000-150,000 miles. Replace the coolant temperature sensor on the thermostat housing.

Blend door actuator for sure for the no-heat-in-the-cabin deal, but the engine overheating seems far out for that. maybe a clogged heater core (might impede flow) Im dealing with no heat in cabin right now, except on the highest setting. On hot days (temps in 90's plus), my Jeep would overheat while driving regardless of speed. Higher speeds didn't help cool it off. In older vehicles that had questionable cooling fans, you could just drive 50-60 and the airflow through radiator was enough to keep your engine happy. Not so in the JK. Particularly if you're running the A/C.

Jeep still stops running and it happens nearly everyday. I have been to Ourisman Jeep in Clarksville, MD, about 5 or 6 times with this problem. They say they can't repair this because they don't know what it is. Yesterday, 8/2/2017, it stopped running twice. The second time it was at a busy intersection.
