Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”.

Bonded by their misery, their national and other prejudices vanished as they came together in prayer. i. “A common misfortune had broken down the racial and national barriers.The word disciple simply means “learner.”. A disciple is someone who is a student, a learner of Jesus. i. Previously, Jesus said that coming to God was like accepting an invitation (Luke 14:16-24).
