After World War II, our growth escalated rapidly. During the four years from 1947 through 1950, our membership total and the number of miles of energized electric line increased almost 250%. Mr. Hord, who was the Co-op's General Manager for 32 years, retired in 1974. Herman Schoolcraft was named his successor. Although the number of members has risen since 1939, the electric cooperative's mission remain the same - to improve the quality of life for our members in southeastern Kentucky.
