I've tried to retrain in the past to cyber systems operations (I forget the old AFSC) and didn't get selected. I thought my chances to retrain were gone for good. With the newest refresh to the job listing, my current AFSC has 10 out slots. I'm debating trying for it but I'd like some info on the different 1D7 jobs.

We are still comm nerds, and had sei codes to reflect our former afsc in the event of pcs or deployment. It doesn't matter that your AFSC is you'll still ask for a ticket when there is a real world mission. Not a ticket-taker, but a lot of this is policy, not individual. I would reccomend 1D7x1A,B, and radio. A shred works with all the equipment in comm closets such as switches and routers. It is the most difficult in my opinion. B shred works on the servers and a lot of vulnerabilities on the network.
