Nov 1, 2022 · IMI “Razor Core” 77 Grain OTM, LR, Mod 1. This load is topped with a 77 grain OTM bullet with a cannelure. The case mouth is sealed and the primers are crimped and sealed. When chronographed from the 20” Colt barrel, the load had a muzzle velocity of 2866 FPS with a standard deviation of 21 FPS.

At $24.95/box or less (bulk) it’s right in the range of reasonable ... Those reports are also quite old. So let's say it is real, the other 5.56 have been good to go, especially the 77 grain. I use the 77 grain primarily as well as the 77 tmk, 75 otm, and 70 tsx. They have been gtg with the exception of a dented casing once and a while and aac/psa took care of it with a new box of ammo.

I was impressed with its accuracy, easily sub moa @100. However, it always shot about 1" low even at that distance, compared to other 75-77 gr rounds, like the Hornady Black 75's or the Magtech and Freedom 77's.
The AAC groups were 10 shots each. Each shot was made with 1 second and one breath between shots. This was done 5rds at a time, with a reload inbetween. The first group is the control with 62gr xtac green tip M855. The second group is AAC 75gr Sabre Black Tip, the 3rd group is AAC 77gr OTM. The OTM shot the tightest grouping Sub 1/2MOA.For self-defense I'd recommend the Black Hills 124 gr jacketed hollow point (JHP) with a muzzle velocity of 1,150 fps and muzzle energy of 364 ft-lbs. 77gr Sierra TMK, 75gr Gold dot and 70gr Barnes TSX are pretty wicked. Also the 75/77gr bthp/OTM like Hornady T2 and Sierra SMK are "match" ammo but they do fragment/expand out to a good range especially out of an 18" barrel. The Hodgdon provided data states that a max of 22.6grs with a Sierra 77gr should net 2727 fps. The lower charge weights resulted in very low hits within the ladders but had an ES within the same charge weights of as little as 2 FPS amongst the 3 ladders. The lowest charges resulted in velocities of as low as 2363 fps.
I run a brt 50/50 with factory buffer option- but an XH buffer on top of that, on a 13.5 and it's pretty much perfect.
