In a nutshell, on both days I was easily able to reserve my pass and neither day was sold out 3 hours after booking opened up. Today, I booked Monday, July 8, and yesterday I booked Sunday, July 7.

Glacier has (in my opinion) more dramatic 4-5,000 foot sheer cliffs and well-defined/scenic peaks; it also has a slightly better variety of hikes, and a much more "park-like" feel because at the lower elevations the diversity of vegetation is much greater. RMNP has a more barren, dusty, rocky, feel while Glacier is much greener.

It's farther from the east side - Many Glacier in particular is a few hours away. I find it more convenient to split my time between the two sides to reduce drive times.24 hours in advance. I like camping at Cracker Lake but be prepared for wind. According to the staff at the Many Glacier Backcountry office many tents have ended up under the crystal turquoise water. Note: Any backcountry office works for the day before. Jun 4, 2023 · There is no mountain view. There is no water feature. There are positive reviews of this CG but they are all dated January 2023 however he CG did not open until June. We arrived there with family in another RV. There was only one other camper there and they were upset too. There was no owner/manager/attendant on site.
