I love Outlander, I was reading the books in order during the off season before the next show season. I ended up stoping tho, NOT because the show is to unlike the books, as far as book to move/show series it is the BEST I have ever witnessed. But reading the books made the show lose its luster a bit.. because I knew what was going to happen ... Favorite: Voyager. Least favorite: Drums of Autumn. 3. JoyAshy1. • 3 yr. ago. There's a lot of conjecture that Claire actually irons out through "accidental" experimentation. I say accidental because Claire never intended to go through the stones at all. She traveled as many times as she did out of necessity, not to study the trip.Expecting Roger to be Jamie is the easiest way to dislike or be disappointed by him. There's 6 Kushiel books and 3 Naamah books that are set several hundred years later. I actually read the Naamah books first and the series works perfectly fine that way. Outlander really sets the stage for all that later in the series. See I'm of the opinion you should read the book after, if the book is better.
