Pull the diff and put the Sand Craft rebuild in it. Guaranteed the garbage plastic sprague that holds the rollers in to engage the 4wd is either broken or cracked. You won’t be able to tell if it’s cracked until you pull the sprague and squeeze it to see they are detached. It has been back at the shop three times for electrical harness problems and is currnetly in again for nine days so farand counting. Each time it is a different harness problem. Manual says "The louver temperature should be approx 15 degrees F (9 C) lower than ambient temp, depending on humidity in the air." Turns out the hole problem was the lower hinge that bolts to the cab frame is very soft metal and was bending. Pulled doors off and lower hinge flattened it back out and all my problems went away. According to my owners manual for my RZR and I suspect the full size rangers are the same, When the AWD is turned on by the switch it only engages when the rear wheels slip. The book also says you can leave it in AWD all the time and it will do nothing unless the rear wheels loose traction.I have a 2011 Ranger XP and was having the same problem and took it to the dealer 6 months ago.
