Maxxforce 7 problems.
Considering looking at a 2009 International 7400 with the Maxxforce engine. Personally I would rather have a 2007 or older DT. I had heard the biggest problems were with the Maxxforce 13's. How bad are the smaller Maxxforce engines? What are their problems? If the problems are emissions related, are they reliable if the engine is deleted?

The specifications of the Maxxforce 7 seemed great in practice, with 350 hp at 3000 revs per minute, and a 650 ft-lb torque when you would hit 2000 revs per minute. Sometimes the horsepower was even lower in other versions of the engine too, which was pretty great.

After the filters were changed the bus still will not start. It will crank and crank, but not kick over. If the system is manually primed it will run for about 5 seconds, then chug and stall. All the fuel lines seem tight with no fuel leakage or diesel fuel smell. The engine builds lots of oil pressure while cranking.
