Aug 9, 2011 · On the left side of the receiver opposite the serial number it is stamped S 12. Both sides are marked Ithaca Hammerless with scroll work. The stock and fore end are checkered. The barrels are in good shape and shell ejectors are present. According to Ithaca's web site the gun is a Minier & NIG Model made in 1906. As a Crass owner/shooter, I can say that it probably will have the shorter chambers. However, a competent gunsmith can open them up to 2 3/4" for about $100. However, if it is a Damascus barrel, you will still need the lower-pressure shells.
