Taking 50 leg damage as Hive (except Soldier Drone) will cripple you and you lose all your "advantage". Scorchlanders have all the same benefits with more hitpoints. Can also eat raw meat. Equip Wooden Sandals and you run as fast as Hive Worker Drone/Prince and also get 5% combat speed bonus. They also heal faster than any other flesh race.
