ECT1 is the temp reading of coolant exiting the heads (entering the hot tank of the radiator). Those VCM deactivation devices send a +/-165F ECT1 signal to “trick” ECU instead of the actual 188F-194F ECT1. That’s the way I understand it. Mounted the VCM Tuner II to the engine side of the battery. Ran the 12volt up from the side where the positive terminal is. There was enough room It'll go over the battery post. Plugged everything back up. Lost a screw and fastener for the intake cover (but fortunately found them).

Jan 26, 2020 · I let my mechanic choose between them; he chose the VCM Tuner II because (1) he liked the installation rigidity (e.g. stability clamp in addition to screws) (2) he really liked the battery connection setup. Took him about 7-8 minutes to satisfy himself with installation (original VCM Tuner on my '06 Odyssey took ME about 5 minutes to install).
