I am thinking that the one sensor on that pipe is a Turbo output temp reader.

An EGR delete is useless imo, if your car isn't burning oil it won't get clogged up. When the throttle is close to the floor or the rpm is over 3k the EGR stops interfering and acts like it isn't there. It helps with emissions when cruising or idling.
