4 days ago · I’ve finally gone ahead with actually planning my 5 night August trip. Torn between staying in Cavtat or Lapad. I have booked Hotel Kompas and have a good rate. My main goal will be to do morning or evening Old Town visits as well as maybe an island day trip (definitely an oyster excursion). The rest of the time I’d like by the pool or beach. The car ferries are usually very steady in the water and the Drvenik-Sucuraj route is very short. The catamarans could be worse for those prone to sea sickness if there is a swell. 2. You need to stay on the island. Mljet is the most scenic island in Croatia IMO. Depending on your interests, you could stay there for a few nights.
