I didn't want a basic Springfield and wanted a forged reciever, completely unaware that LRB was a thing at that time. I knew of Fulton, Springfield, Bula, Norinco, and James River.I have a James River Armory M14 I would like to sell. I'm the second owner. 220 rounds have been shot though it (200 by the first owner, 20 by me). Has normal wear and tear. No problems what so ever. The reciever is forged steel. That being said, I have a regular JRA M14 and I wouldn't trade it for one of the welded ones. I think the real M14 heal is cool for a collector, but as a shooter I like the solid, one piece forging of my receiver. I have no data on the welded M14 receivers, so they may prove to be just as reliable as mine.
