I am not talking about a serialized magazine (have one though) that matches the pistol. I mean "this mag with these markings with a wooden bottom etc ...The Stoeger Luger’s commercial downfall was mainly due to its reputation of being a picky 22 pistol. Picky despite the claim stated in the manual that it can reliably cycle both standard and high velocity 22 rounds. If the frame has a "P08" stamp just below the left toggle knob, if the date on the receiver is "41" or "42" and the maker's stamp on the middle toggle is "byf" I'd say the black plastic grip panels are correct. If these stamps don't appear anywhere on your luger the plastic panels are not correct.After World War I the P.08 remained in service with German military forces right up to the early years of the World War II. Production ceased in 1942 with adoption of the P38 pistol. As late as the 1960s, Mauser/Interarms manufactured pistols that were identical in design to the original Luger.
