The new weapon changes made the game unfun. I have unlocked 103/103 items, every ability, and every weapon mod for ashes. After 112 hrs in the game, the most recent update straight up made the game not even fun to play. It seems that there is less power in the weapons and more power in the items (the new items are a long overdue addition imo).The current workaround is Steam Remote Play Together. Each player needs their own device, PC or phone, and use the Steam Link app to connect as local players.
