A fighter or rogue/bard will need chr/dex/con, which is what bards need already and will have 0 features interrupted by spellcasting. A paladin/bard will need chr/dex (or str)/con and have features to augment his spellcasting. A bard/warlock or sorcerer will need Chr/dex/con and have possible synergy being full casters.
A paladin 2 / valour bard 10 is IMO by far the strongest build in the game. If you think one 6th level spell is better than access to divine smite, just take a moment to think what you just said. 5th edition has totally overpowered bards by giving them full spellcasting levels and the fact that you can combine it with divine smites for free makes this build absolutely busted.
