Best weapon in nioh 2.

The DLC weapons so far kinda makes existing weapons with similar characteristics a bit useless. The Odachi was a dlc weapon in Nioh 1 and it benefits the same stat as Axe does. You could totally replace Axe with Odachi for faster, stronger, and wider range of attack. As for the Fists, I could totally throw Kusarigama out of the window.For melting bigs, splitstaff (dragon dance) breaks the game. Other that the weapon kinda terrible. Not the best against humans. Dual swords seems to have best sets of active skills (water sword for dps, SotC, whirlwind) but it has the worst normal moves. Tonfa is best ki breaking but worst tracking, bad range.Tonfa, odachi, dual swords and axe are good for beginners. They have simple yet effective skills. İf you only look at basic fast and strong attacks, sword is obviously the most basic one. But you need to use skills if you want to be effective.Honestly, if I were to give a recommendation for Weapons in nioh 2...I'll say tonfa and odachi. Tonfa for massive ki damage and multiple hits, odachi for crow control and hit and run tactics. I main katana both in nioh 1 and 2, katanas are insanely cool, overwhelming and stylish once you figure them out. But it takes a long, long time.

If you want to try a faster weapon, my favorite for those is the Kusarigama, and for heavier weapons both Odachi and the Axe are nice though require some more Ki management, especially on high stance. The hyper armor/poise enemies, dying in 2 to 3 hits, running out of ki all the time, the annoying sniper/kite enemies,fighting cheese bosses like Shisenin Kosen (constantly running away using the charged Odachi thrust attack to beat him) etc. It all adds up and dampens my opinion of the game.

I think Spear I think is just a consistently really good weapon. Low stance has great mobility and flying monkey jump attack actually does solid damage and can really cause problems for human enemies. Mid stance had great pokes that only get better with the increased thrust range. High stance is the least good, but has nice vertical attacks.
